🌍 PGL Training Session: Preparing for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at SolBridge 🌍
As part of SolBridge's commitment to building an inclusive
community for all students, the Student Services Team hosted the semiannual
Peer Group Leader (PGL) training, featuring a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
(DEI) session to prepare for the upcoming International Orientation Week.
The session sparked meaningful discussions on
seamlessly integrating DEI principles into daily campus life, especially
fostering the positive attitude during OT. A key focus was leveraging
SolBridge's strengths in cross-cultural engagement to foster a more cohesive
and welcoming environment for all students.
Key Highlights from the Training Session
l
DEI Conversations in Action: PGLs explored ways
to facilitate open and respectful discussions on diversity and inclusion,
emphasizing the importance of creating a space where every voice is valued
while addressing potential language barriers.
l
Cross-Cultural Engagement: Recognizing
SolBridge's diverse community, the training highlighted strategies to celebrate
and strengthen cross-cultural interactions during Orientation Week, including
active participation in sessions such as Embracing Diversity.
l Practical Commitments: PGLs signed a DEI pledge, committing to welcoming, supporting, and connecting with every student in their team—embracing diversity and creating a warm, inclusive community where everyone feels valued and heard
As we prepare for Orientation Week, SolBridge
remains dedicated to ensuring that diversity is not just acknowledged but
celebrated. With the training completed, our PGLs are ready to warmly welcome
new students and help them feel at home from day one.
Stay tuned for updates on Orientation Week
