A Place That Stayed Within Me: Busan New
Gaikwad Vaishnavi Sharad, a first-year student and a member of the 18th Student Council at SolBridge International School of Business, shares her experience being at Busan Haeundae Beach Excursion that happened on Saturday, March 28th 2026. My experience in Busan was something I will always carry with me. It was not just an excursion, but a blend of responsibility, lots of joy and personal connection. As a Student Council member, I played a role in organizing the excursion and ensuring everything went smoothly. Taking care of students, making sure everyone was safe, present, and comfortable throughout the trip was a responsibility but it really felt meaningful and rewarded after seeing other students enjoying themselves. I share a deep connection with Busan. Visiting Busan reminded me of the peaceful vacations I spent with my family along the seashores of Konkan and the Lakshadweep Islands in India. Busan has the calmness of the sea, the soothing rhythm of the waves, and the peace that only coastal places can offer.
My most favourite place which I visited in Busan is Haeundae Beach. Haeundae Beach is not just a beach, it is an experience in itself. While walking beside the sea, running on the sand, and playing with the waves, I felt truly alive and happy. The place is full of life and energy. People are enjoying their time in their own ways, some performing and singing with passion, some focusing on their fitness, running along the shore, while others walk around with their pets or spend meaningful moments with their loved ones. It is a space where people are experiencing different emotions and stories, creating a vibrant yet comforting atmosphere.
Busan has its own beautiful places that make the city even more special. I visited Dongbaekseom Island, a peaceful spot surrounded by nature, and the Nurimaru APEC House meeting room, which carries global significance and offers stunning views of the sea. Walking through Dongbaekseom Park felt very calm and refreshing and hearing the sound of waves while walking was magnetic. There is a quiet comfort in the waves, as if they understand something I cannot put into words. At times, it even feels like the blue sea is talking with me and calling me towards it and reminding me of a version of myself that feels free.
Busan has its own unique culture, something you can feel in its streets and everyday life. The city has so much to offer. From the lively atmosphere of BIFF Square to the charm of its coastal villages, every place feels special and is beautiful in its own way. The food, especially the fresh seafood, was unforgettable, and every meal felt like an experience. Gamcheon Culture Village, with its colourful houses and artistic vibe, feels like walking through a painting and living in an imaginary artistic world. Everywhere I went in Busan, I was greeted with amazing views that made me pause and click beautiful photos.
Busan was more than just an
excursion for me, it became a feeling I didn’t want to let go of. Although I
was exhausted, my heart was filled with happiness and joy. It felt like Busan
did not want me to leave. Busan didn’t just give me memories, it gave me
cultural experience, it gave me a sense of belonging, as if a part of me now
exists with the sea, waiting to return.
