SolBridgers in action: Doha Elbariki & Ya Mone Phoo wins first place in the Woosong Short-Video Contest
“SolBridge
is not only an International School of Business, it’s also a cluster of
opportunities to grow, learn and experience.”
Doha Elbariki, a dual degree transfer student from Groupe KEDGE Business School, shares her experience and process of participating in the Short Form Video Contest organized by Woosong University.
On
a sunny snowy day of November, my close friend - Ya Mone Phoo - texts
me:
A short-video contest organized by Woosong University is ongoing around the theme of “Our Campus, Our Story”. As soon as Ya Mone contacted me, knowing that our duo has a perfect dynamic, notably within the 16th Student Council, my mind was already fussing a thousand ideas per second. I do enjoy, in my free time, capturing slices of my life, my trips and more and editing them in my way. In any class, when there is an assignment based on video-editing, sure it was an advantage for me! Then when the opportunity of contesting on my favorite hobby appeared, I immediately jumped on it, thinking it was the best way to showcase my skills.
In your opinion, how much time do you think it takes us to shoot and edit our video? One week? Three days? The suspense is over: it took us only half a day! Fifteen minutes for script brainstorming, the afternoon for shooting, and the evening for editing. The secret ingredient was our duo. When you have a partner in crime that shares your ideas and can bring new to the table, while keeping an easy-going atmosphere, every project goes smoothly and fast - and I believe that it is something that has been applied for the successful companies of today. Having a good team can bring your job to the top! And that’s what happened…
On a cloudy Friday, the contest results brightened our day: our team made it onto the winner's list, though the rankings remain unknown. Thus, a special ceremony was held where participants and their friends were gathered to discover the winners but also watch the first-place winning video. Well, you can imagine our surprised face when we saw the first image of our effort on the big screen; we felt so proud.
