This week we are proud to recognize Saule, who graduated from SolBridge in 2023. She now works as a Global PR Senior Associate at The Pure Lab | Dr. Athea in Seoul, South Korea. Let's tune in to hear her story of job searching, what she learned from SolBridge and what she is working on now!

Can you please introduce a little bit about yourself?

My name is Saule, I am from Kazakhstan. My major was BBA in Management, and I graduated in 2023.

Please tell us about your company and your role

Since graduating, I've had the opportunity to work at four different companies, each helping me build a diverse set of experiences. I am currently a Global PR Senior Associate at The Pure Lab, the company behind the globally recognized skincare brand Dr.Althea.

In my role, I oversee global public relations and brand communications, working closely with influencers, media, and key partners around the world. My responsibilities include influencer relations, PR campaigns, event planning, celebrity collaborations, and strengthening the brand's global presence.

What inspired you to pursue this career or industry?

I started my career in the entertainment industry because I had always envisioned myself working in a creative and fast-paced environment. I genuinely enjoy building relationships, planning events, and developing creative campaigns that connect brands with celebrities and consumers.

At the same time, I've always been passionate about the K-beauty industry, especially as it has become one of Korea's most influential global industries. Being able to combine my experience in entertainment with my interest in beauty has led me to a role that truly aligns with both my skills and my passions.

Learning Korean early on also played a significant role in my career journey. When I first began studying Korean, there were relatively fewer international professionals working in Korea with strong language skills, which gave me a competitive advantage. Today, many more foreigners speak Korean fluently, so I believe continuously improving your language skills is more important than ever if you want to build a long-term career here.

What is SolBridge to you? How did your experience at SolBridge help prepare you for your career?

Beyond the knowledge I gained in business and marketing, I believe the greatest value SolBridge gave me was its network.

I landed my first internship at an entertainment agency thanks to Professor Choi, who oversaw career development when I was a student. His advice and guidance helped me think strategically about my career and make decisions that have shaped my professional journey.

I also served as the Vice President of the UCLG Club, which was the largest student club at SolBridge during my time there and was led by Professor Choi. Through this role, I had the opportunity to participate in a variety of research projects, which gave me valuable hands-on experience and broadened my perspective.

I also continue to stay connected with many SolBridge alumni who now work across the same industry. We regularly exchange ideas, share industry insights, and support each other's professional growth, which has become an invaluable part of my career.

One of my proudest achievements has been contributing to projects involving some of Korea's most recognized public figures, including BTS' V, Jackie Chan, Jang Wonyoung, and Ahn Hyo-seop.

Being trusted to work on projects of this scale has been both exciting and rewarding. These experiences have allowed me to collaborate with talented teams, manage high-profile campaigns, and continue growing as a communications professional.

I'm also proud of leading the planning and execution of various brand events and pop-ups. While these projects required extensive preparation and coordination, seeing them come to life successfully made all the hard work worthwhile.

If you could give one message to current SolBridge students, what would it be?

Don't wait for opportunities to come to you. Create them yourself.

Be proactive, reach out to people, build genuine relationships, and don't be afraid to step outside your comfort zone. While it's important to enjoy your university years, investing time in internships, networking, and developing your skills will open far more doors than you might expect.
